This is a great recipe a friend of mine cooked up once while we were fishing. An odd time to create a recipe, no? The fish weren’t biting, and that’s all I’m going to say about that. It turns out this is excellent on crackers (my friend prefers Ritz, I prefer Town House). I call it ‘pate’ because it’s similar in appearance. Give it a try, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised! Wait, I know, but stay with me here even if you consider broccoli your arch nemesis. This is actually a really good way to cook up some broccoli quickly and painlessly. Use any veggie you like if the idea of eating the tiny sexual organs of flora turns your stomach. If you don’t have a steamer use a microwave safe bowl and some plastic wrap with a couple tablespoons of water. Serving sizes are tricky. My husband and I love steamed broccoli and I make enough for 4 when I make it, but somehow we manage the entire recipe between the two of us.
